Event Details

John Powers and Luke DuBois will making a world premiere presentation at Hyperallergic HQ and screening episodes 2 (Robots as peasants) & 4 (abstraction is the force) in the continuing epic that is "Star Wars Modern," an art work in 14 parts.

Conceptualized by sculptor John Powers, the author of the blog Star Wars Modern, the project has generated debate and discussion the world over.

Exploring the radical intersection of modernity, modernism, Star Wars, pop culture, and art theory, Powers's project is a recontextualization of art in the contemporary world. The project is scored by composer Luke DuBois, who will be on hand to answer questions and explain his contribution to the project.

THIS IS A NIGHT NOT TO BE MISSED!

You can also read a review of Powers and DuBois's last event "Star Wars and Modernism: An Artist Commentary," which was written by Hyperallergic contributor Zachary A. Cohen.
